Themed “Nigeria’s 4Ds Foreign Policy Strategy Amidst Global Security Challenges, Strategic Misperceptions, and the Age of Disinformation: The Role of Diplomacy, Intelligence, and Media in Shaping National and Global Stability,” the event will explore how Nigeria’s foreign policy can address current security threats and promote global peace through collaboration and strategic communication.

The conference, scheduled to take place on July 23 at the Rotunda Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also feature a keynote address by the host minister and DICAN grand patron, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar. It is the first international security forum organised by DICAN under the leadership of Mr. Idehai Frederick.

Participants will include over 75 diplomats, top intelligence officers, military leaders, media professionals, heads of government agencies, researchers, and students from selected institutions across the country.

A high-level panel session will be chaired by the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS and will feature key voices such as the National Security Adviser, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Professor Sheriff Ghali of the University of Abuja, and respected journalist Alhassan Bala.

The conference also highlights DICAN’s commitment to strengthening dialogue among critical stakeholders as a means of conflict prevention and peacebuilding especially in the face of growing global instability in regions like Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Dignitaries expected at the event include the President of Nigeria, state governors, members of the National Assembly, security chiefs, and representatives of leading research institutions. The gathering reflects Nigeria’s readiness to champion multilateral cooperation and play a stabilizing role in global affairs.
