The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kano Command, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing him as a rare humanitarian and advocate for public safety.

Dantata, a renowned elder statesman and business mogul, died on Friday, June 28, 2025, in Abu Dhabi at the age of 94.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASF Alhassan Ahmad Kantin, the service highlighted Dantata’s lifelong dedication to the progress of Nigeria, especially in the northern region, through entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and safety awareness.

“Alhaji Dantata’s life was one of monumental impact – marked by his unshakable commitment to the development of Nigeria… His unwavering passion for the safety of lives and property remains a legacy we deeply honour,” the statement read.

Although he was nominated in 2021 to be decorated as a Chief Fire Safety Ambassador, the command said the award could not be formally bestowed due to his unavailability. However, the service acknowledged that he remained, in spirit and record, a true ambassador of safety and humanitarian service.

The command prayed for the late Dantata’s soul and extended condolences to his family, asking Almighty Allah to grant them the strength to bear the loss.

“His legacy of compassion, service, and protection of humanity shall continue to inspire us in our duty to safeguard lives and property,” the statement added.
