The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Thursday, describing the attacks as acts of arson often witnessed during the farming season.

Police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said unidentified individuals were responsible for setting fire to several structures in the affected villages, resulting in the destruction of residents’ belongings.

Reacting to the development, Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris has ordered an investigation into the incident. He also deployed officers to the troubled areas to prevent further violence and ensure the culprits are brought to justice.

Nguroje said the Command would not tolerate lawlessness and warned that anyone caught inciting or participating in violence would face severe legal consequences.

The police urged residents to remain calm, cooperate with security personnel, and report any suspicious activity in their communities.
