The former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of elder statesman and renowned businessman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing it as a monumental loss to Kano State and the nation at large.

Kwankwaso paid a condolence visit to the residence of the late Dantata in the Koki area of Kano on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. During the visit, he joined family members and associates in grieving the passing of the respected patriarch, whose influence spanned both business and public life.
He acknowledged Dantata’s immense contributions to national development, philanthropy, and the economic growth of northern Nigeria. The NNPP leader said the late businessman left behind a legacy defined by generosity, service to humanity, and dedication to the progress of his community.
Kwankwaso also prayed for the forgiveness of Dantata’s shortcomings and for his soul to find peace in the highest ranks of paradise.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata died on June 28, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, reportedly due to complications from a stroke and heart-related issues. He was buried on July 1, 2025, at the Al-Baqi Cemetery in Madina, Saudi Arabia, following Jana’iza prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque.
