The judgment was delivered on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the court sitting on Miller Road. The case, which had been ongoing since 2018, came to a close after the court found Aminu guilty of the gruesome killing that took place in Jibga village, Bebeji Local Government Area.
During the trial, the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Badawiyya Shehu Bala, called three witnesses, while the defense presented only one item of evidence. Justice Sabo stated that the court was satisfied with the evidence provided by the prosecution, which proved the accused’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
According to court findings, Aminu lured the young girl from her home to a nearby farm where he strangled her. He then slit her stomach open using a bottle and removed her intestines.
Reports also revealed that the accused was allegedly influenced by a promise of N400,000 from an unnamed individual to carry out the murder.
Justice Sabo, in her ruling, described the act as “inhuman and brutal,” emphasizing that the sentence serves as a deterrent to others.
