A northern socio-political group, Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development Initiative, has mourned the passing of billionaire industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, who died at the age of 94.

In a condolence message signed by its State Chairman, Comrade Sagir Wada Mai Iyali, the group described Dantata’s death as a “huge and irreplaceable national loss,” noting that his contributions to business and humanitarian causes will be remembered for generations.
The statement praised Dantata as a true nationalist whose philanthropic activities empowered countless Nigerians and inspired many to achieve greatness.
“His life was lived for humanity and the evidence of that impact lives amongst the people he left behind,” the group noted, adding that the widespread public outpouring of grief reflects how deeply the late business icon touched lives.
The group also called on leaders and youth in the North and across Nigeria to reflect on Dantata’s life and emulate his commitment to lifting others out of poverty, saying such efforts would contribute to building a better society.
“While we will dearly miss his business prowess and generosity, we are consoled by the fact that his legacy continues to shape Nigeria in a positive way,” the statement read.
