A delegation representing the Federal Government of Nigeria has visited the residence of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to extend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s condolence to the bereaved family.

The delegation, which arrived in Madina on Monday, was led by the Minister of Defence and former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

Other members included the Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Environment and Urban Development, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Prominent Islamic scholars, among them Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, who serves as the Imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja, were also part of the delegation. They offered prayers for the soul of the deceased.

The family of the late Dantata, led by Alhaji Mustapha Junaid and accompanied by his wives, children, and grandchildren, received the delegation warmly and expressed appreciation for the visit.

Delivering President Tinubu’s message, Minister Badaru said the President was deeply saddened by the loss. “The passing of Baba Aminu deeply touched President Tinubu. He prays that Allah grants him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and gives the entire family the strength to bear this great loss,” he said.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Ibrahim Modibbo; Head of Mission, Ambassador Mu’azzam Ibrahim Nayaya; and Defence Attaché, Major General Adamu Hassan, were also in attendance.

The visit concluded with prayers led by the accompanying clerics, invoking blessings and mercy upon the late Dantata.

Alhaji Dantata, a respected elder statesman and businessman, died on Saturday in Abu Dhabi at the age of 94.
