According to the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Veronica Garba, the corps members were moved out of Yelewata and Daudu communities with the support of the police. They have since been temporarily relocated to family houses and offices belonging to corps member associations.

The coordinator assured that all affected corps members are safe and being properly taken care of. She attributed the improved response to the recent deployment of security chiefs to the state, noting that the development is expected to enhance security in the region.

She also appealed to parents to remain calm and trust that their children are under proper care, while emphasizing the importance of spiritual support during such difficult times.

The evacuation comes shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Makurdi and directed security agencies to restore order in troubled communities and bring those responsible for the violence to justice.
