The upgrade ceremony, held on Wednesday, highlighted the federal government’s growing investment in education and infrastructure within Kano State and the wider Northwest region. Senator Jibrin credited President Tinubu for his swift approval of the university’s elevation, describing it as part of the President’s broader commitment to advancing educational opportunities.

Further to this development, Jibrin revealed that President Tinubu had also approved the establishment of another Federal Polytechnic in Kabo, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand educational access in the region. He emphasized that these moves demonstrate the administration’s dedication to building a solid foundation for societal progress through education.

In addition, Jibrin recounted how President Tinubu reversed a previous decision to downgrade the status of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, restoring its federal university of education status after a direct appeal. The President’s responsiveness to development proposals from Kano was highlighted as consistent and supportive.

The event attracted various dignitaries from Kano State and beyond, underscoring the federal government’s commitment to fostering inclusive development and strengthening educational infrastructure across Nigeria.
