Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, who represents Bichi Federal Constituency in Kano State and chairs the House Committee on Appropriation, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of 22 young athletes and officials from the state who lost their lives in a tragic road crash at Dakatsalle town.

The tragic incident occurred as the victims were returning from the just concluded National Sports Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In a condolence message, Hon. Abubakar described the incident as a painful loss not only to the bereaved families and Kano State, but to the entire nation.

“This is a great loss to not only the families of the deceased or Kano State, but also to Nigeria in general,” he said.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the Kano State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and the entire sports community in the state and across the country.

The lawmaker prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace and for their families to find the strength to bear the loss.
