According to a press release from the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, the arrests took place around 6:30 PM at a hideout in Ikot Etuk Village, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area. During the operation, officers seized a locally made pistol, a fabricated single barrel gun, and assorted charms.

The suspects Utibe Edem Asuquo, 31 years old; Godwin Edet Edem, 32 years old; Usen Edem Eyo, 29 years old; Aniebiet Edet Edem, 28 years old; and Anthony Dominic Edem, 32 years old have reportedly provided information about their involvement in criminal activities.
