Eleven suspects have been arrested in connection with a violent thuggery incident that occurred on Monday, May 26, 2025, in Medile Quarters, Kano State.

The group, armed with dangerous weapons, reportedly attacked residents, injuring some and stealing their belongings.

Daily News 24 reports that this information was confirmed by the Kano State Police Command in a press release issued on Tuesday. The police said prompt action led to the arrest of the suspects, who are now undergoing investigation and will face prosecution once inquiries are complete.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 44, include Aliyu Ibrahim (21), Abubakar Ya’u (18), Ibrahim Kaulayi (19), Ibrahim Murtala aka Mai Rakuma (18), Abba Musa aka Giza Gizo (27), Muhammad Dawud aka Dan Besse (19), Abdullahi Ibrahim aka Tsoho Me Nama (38), Jibril Abubakar aka Abasu Kala (22), Salim Musa (20), Zaharaddin Ismail aka Gwan Gwan (20), and Abubakar Hassan aka Meguda Dan Ta (44).

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace and warned that anyone involved in such criminal acts would face the full force of the law. He urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.

The Kano State Police Command also thanked the community for their cooperation and assured that the suspects will be dealt with fairly according to the law.
