The proposed budget allocates N324 billion for infrastructure, N166 billion for health, N75.6 billion for education, and N31.4 billion for agriculture. The agricultural sector is expected to create about 6,000 jobs for residents.
In a letter to the National Assembly, President Tinubu stressed the urgency for swift legislative approval, highlighting the legal requirement under the emergency rule for federal consent on state spending from the Consolidated Revenue Fund. The budget focuses on critical sectors deemed vital for Rivers State’s recovery and long-term growth.
After receiving the proposal, the Senate referred it to its ad-hoc committee on Rivers State for detailed review and urgent recommendations.
