According to the statement, the committee was inaugurated by the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Higher Education, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who charged members to work with diligence and adhere strictly to their terms of reference.

Dr. Hadi Bala Yahaya, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher Education, was appointed as the committee’s chairman, while Shehu Sani Dauda, the Director of Administration and General Services in the ministry, will serve as secretary.

The committee is tasked with assessing existing infrastructure at the proposed site, preparing a bill of quantities for additional facilities, drafting a bill to establish the polytechnic, and producing both an academic brief and a physical master plan for the institution.

It is also expected to recommend necessary resources for the polytechnic’s take-off, co-opt advisory members when necessary, and handle other matters relevant to its assignment.

The committee has a two-week deadline from the date of inauguration to submit its report.
