Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umaru as the new Commissioner for Internal Security.

The appointment was formalized during the 28th State Executive Council meeting held Monday at the Government House in Kano.

Until his new role, Umaru served as the Director-General of the Directorate of Special Services at the Government House. He is also a seasoned security expert with a long-standing career in the Nigerian Air Force.

Governor Yusuf charged the new commissioner to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and commitment in safeguarding lives and property across the state.

He also stressed the need for stronger cooperation among security agencies to address emerging threats and ensure the safety of residents.

With his wealth of experience, Umaru is expected to play a vital role in improving the state’s internal security architecture.
