Former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.

His personal office confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday, noting that the 81-year-old sought medical attention after experiencing worsening urinary symptoms. Subsequent tests revealed a prostate nodule, and further evaluation confirmed a high-grade tumor with bone metastasis. The cancer was classified with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating an advanced and aggressive form.

Despite the severity, doctors say the cancer is hormone-sensitive, offering hope for effective management.

Biden is currently consulting with his medical team and family to decide on a treatment plan.
