The attack, which happened in the early hours of Thursday, sent shockwaves across neighbouring communities and forced many residents to flee for safety.

The rising tension has begun to affect education in the region, as schools in the Guga District of Bakori Local Government Area have reportedly shut down due to growing threats.

A security analyst, Bakatsine, confirmed the school closures while expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation in Katsina South.

As of the time of filing this report, state officials have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident or the school shutdowns.

Residents have called on authorities to urgently address the worsening security crisis to safeguard lives, livestock, and livelihoods.
