Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has announced a revised curfew for motorcycles and tricycles within Minna metropolis, adjusting the movement hours from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The adjustment was disclosed in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibrahim Bologi, who said the decision followed recommendations from the state security committee after recent evaluations.

Governor Bago emphasized that his administration remains committed to working closely with the security agencies to regularly assess the impact of the curfew and introduce necessary changes aimed at improving public safety.

He also appealed to residents to comply with the new directive, stressing that the government’s policies are geared toward securing lives and improving the general well-being of the people.

The latest curfew update comes weeks after an earlier restriction on April 23, which limited motorcycle and tricycle operations between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., following a surge in thuggery-related incidents in Minna. The restrictions were part of efforts to curb growing insecurity in the state capital.
