The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has formally commenced its 2025 Hajj preparations with the deployment of its Advance Team to Saudi Arabia.

The team, which includes top operational staff and senior medical officers, was officially flagged off during a farewell ceremony held at the Hajj House in Abuja on Monday.

NAHCON’s Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Babagana Bukar, commended the team for their outstanding performance in the previous Hajj exercise. He noted that their efforts were instrumental in laying the foundation for a successful pilgrimage season.

Speaking at the event, NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, charged the team to carry out their duties with dedication and a deep sense of responsibility. He emphasized the vital role they play in ensuring the comfort and safety of Nigerian pilgrims, and pledged the Commission’s full support throughout their assignment.

Also addressing the team, the Commissioner in charge of Planning, Research, Statistics, Information, and Library Services, Professor Abubakar Yagawal, described their mission as central to the success of the Hajj operations. He urged them to uphold values of integrity, professionalism, and fairness in the discharge of their duties.

The Advance Team is responsible for making essential arrangements ahead of the arrival of Nigerian pilgrims, including securing accommodations and coordinating logistics with Saudi Arabian authorities.
