Dangwani, a notable figure in Kano’s political landscape, was received into the APC alongside several other defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during a ceremony attended by top party stakeholders. The event was presided over by the state APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas.
In his remarks, Dangwani praised the APC’s leadership and organizational structure, stating that his decision to join was driven by a desire to be part of a party committed to delivering good governance to Nigerians.

His defection is seen as a significant political shift in the state, considering his previous close relationship with Kwankwaso, now the leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
While welcoming the new members, APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas described the move as a major boost to the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts. He assured the defectors of equal treatment and opportunities within the party, stressing the importance of unity ahead of future elections.
