According to the Army, the incident occurred at an ammunition storage facility within the barracks due to unusually high temperatures currently affecting the region. The explosion sparked concern among locals, but authorities have assured that the situation is now fully under control.

Efforts by the Borno State Fire Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, helped contain the situation swiftly. Troops have also been deployed to maintain order and prevent any form of disruption or exploitation by miscreants.

The Army has appealed to the public to remain calm and disregard any unfounded rumours of an attack. Measures have been implemented to safeguard lives and property, as well as to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
