The Federal Government of Nigeria has condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, and left several others injured.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the government described the attack as a “tragic and heinous act” that must be addressed with urgency and global resolve.

Highlighting the growing threat of terrorism worldwide, the ministry stressed that combating such extremism requires unified international action. It also drew attention to Nigeria’s own struggle with terrorism, noting that shared experiences should strengthen global partnerships in fighting violent extremism.

The government extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of India, offering thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families. Nigeria also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting international efforts that promote peace, security, and justice.
