The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero, the current Wamban Kano, as the new Galadiman Kano, a prestigious title within the Kano Emirate.

The decision was made during a council meeting chaired by Emir Aminu Ado Bayero on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. In a letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Awaisu Abbas Sanusi, the Emirate Council announced that the turbaning ceremony will take place on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Emir’s new palace located in Nassarawa.
The letter conveyed the Emir’s congratulations to Sanusi Ado Bayero and urged him to invite his family, friends, and associates to celebrate the significant honour.
Meanwhile, in the same month, the 16th Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, appointed Alhaji Mannir Sanusi (Hakimin Bichi) as Galadiman Kano following the death of the previous titleholder.
