Fear has gripped residents of Musukwani in Jakara, within Kano Municipal Local Government Area, following the mysterious disappearance of two young boys in a large ditch located in the community.

The latest incident occurred on Monday, April 21, 2025, when one of the boys, before stepping into the ditch, removed his clothes and a wallet containing money and handed them over to some bystanders. Witnesses said he claimed he was going to “check something” in the ditch but never returned. His belongings remain with the onlookers, DAILY POST reports.

Just days before, another boy identified as Dan Sani also vanished in the same location. His maternal uncle, Musa Hamza, who is a local community leader, described the situation as frustrating and deeply worrying, noting that efforts to find the boy had so far been unsuccessful.

The Kano State Fire Service responded to distress calls during both incidents and deployed a team to the site. However, the rescue efforts yielded no results, and the operation was eventually suspended.

Locals say the ditch has a history of strange occurrences and suspect supernatural forces may be involved. “People are scared, and we can’t sleep with both eyes closed anymore,” a resident said.

As fear spreads, the community is appealing to the Kano State Government and relevant emergency agencies to investigate the site and take preventive measures to avoid further tragedies.
