Flying Eagles midfielder, Mathew Kingsley Awodi, has expressed his excitement and determination to contribute to Nigeria’s success at the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking from the team’s training base in Cairo, Awodi described his inclusion in the national squad as a major honour. The Kings FC playmaker is part of the 24-man team selected by Head Coach Aliyu Zubair for the continental tournament, which runs from April 27 to May 18.

Awodi said he is overjoyed to be part of the squad and confident that the team will give a strong account of themselves in the competition.

As the team gears up for their opening fixture against Tunisia on May 1 at the 30th June Stadium in Cairo, Awodi remains confident that the Flying Eagles can make a meaningful impact in the tournament.

With training sessions intensifying, the calm and creative midfielder emphasized the unity and determination within the squad, noting that they are fully focused on delivering a memorable campaign for the country.
