Two children, a 13-year-old boy named Imam and a six-year-old girl named Nasrin, have died following an explosion in the Abakpa area of Kaduna State.

The explosion occurred on Tuesday near the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna. The blast also injured three other residents, Daily Trust reports.

Security agencies have arrived at the scene and are investigating the cause of the incident, although no official details have been released yet.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic. One resident, who was taking a bath at the time of the explosion, rushed outside to see the devastation. He tried to help Imam, who was gravely injured, and rushed him to the hospital, but the child could not survive.
