The renewal of Garki Hospital’s concession to Nisa Medical Group has been lauded as a successful example of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in improving healthcare services.

Dr. Shamsudeen Usman, Chairman of Nisa Medical Group’s Board of Directors at the inauguration of the new Garki Hospital expressed confidence in the hospital’s future under the leadership of a newly appointed Board, which includes experienced professionals.

He emphasized that the second phase of the PPP agreement had been completed successfully with the support of the Minister of State and the Permanent Secretary at FCTA.

He commended Barrister Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), for facilitating the renewal despite earlier challenges.

Dr. Usman stressed that seamless communication, mutual respect, and shared goals would be key to the hospital’s growth and continued improvement in patient care. He called on the new Board to prioritize transparency, patient safety, and maintaining high clinical standards. He also praised Dr. Peter Nmadu, the newly appointed Board Chairman, for his extensive experience in healthcare management.

Dr. Baba-Gana Adam, Permanent Secretary of Health Service and Environment at FCTA, reflected on the successful collaboration between past ministers and Dr. Ibrahim Wada’s team in implementing the PPP model. He also expressed his gratitude to Minister Wike for expediting the renewal process and reiterated the team’s dedication to improving service delivery.

Dr. Kenneth Ityo, the Medical Director of Garki Hospital, recognized the contribution of the team that led the hospital through its first 15 years under the concession and pledged to leave a lasting legacy during his tenure.

The new Board, composed of professionals such as Dr. Baba-Gana Ahmadu, Garduya Bawa, Dr. Abubakar Ahmadu, and Dr. Peter Nmadu, is set to continue the hospital’s legacy of quality healthcare service delivery.
