Kazeem Sanusi, a 400-level Mathematics student at the University of Ilorin, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest mathematics lesson.
The 31-hour, 42-minute, and 54-second lecture surpassed the previous record of 26 hours, demonstrating exceptional endurance and commitment to his field.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, including Guinness World Records representatives and top university officials such as Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wahab Egbewole, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adegboyega Fawole, Registrar Mansur Alfanla, Dean of Physical Sciences Prof. Abdullahi Baba, Ag. Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Alex Akanmu, and Student Union President Comrade Victor Agezeh.
Kunle Akogun, the University’s Director of Information, confirmed that Kazeem is now awaiting official recognition from the Guinness World Records.
In his congratulatory message, Prof. Egbewole expressed immense pride in Sanusi’s achievement. He added that the university’s management strives to provide an environment conducive to excellence, inspiring other students to reach for their own records and achievements.
