This move comes in response to a recent appeal from APC leaders across Kano South, including 16 local government chairmen, secretaries, and ward leaders, who expressed their support for Sumaila’s return

Senator Sumaila acknowledged that the APC leaders have called on him to rejoin the party, a request made amidst internal challenges within his current party, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), which has been plagued by factional disputes.

Senator Sumaila indicated that the APC’s interest in him stems from his strong political influence and his longstanding commitment to serving the people. He noted that as calls for his return to APC continue, he has initiated thorough consultations with his constituents and other key stakeholders to gauge their opinions.

The senator emphasized that his political journey has always been driven by the needs and aspirations of his constituents. He made it clear that his decision on whether to rejoin APC will not be made unilaterally. Instead, he intends to let his constituents decide his fate, underlining the importance of consultation and openness in politics.

Sumaila further assured that whatever decision his constituents arrive at, he would respect and abide by it. He reiterated his commitment to putting the interests of his people above all else, stressing that in political decisions, collective input is essential for meaningful progress.
