Former militant leader and prominent Ijaw figure, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, has expressed optimism that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State will soon be reinstated to office amid the ongoing political crisis in the state.

Speaking at his 54th birthday celebration in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Tompolo addressed the controversy surrounding Fubara’s suspension, revealing that reconciliation efforts were underway between the governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. He confidently stated that the issues at hand would be resolved, and the Ijaw people would not be defeated.

In response to criticisms about his silence on the matter, Tompolo dismissed accusations of betraying the Ijaw nation. He emphasized that his lifelong commitment to the Ijaw struggle remained unwavering and that he could never turn his back on his people.

Furthermore, Tompolo urged the Ijaw people to support President Bola Tinubu, expressing belief that the current administration would bring positive developments to their region. He reaffirmed his confidence that Tinubu would deliver benefits to the Ijaw Nation.
