The Kano State Police Command has invited Shamakin Kano, Alhaji Wada Isyaku, for interrogation over alleged defiance of the ban on Durbar activities during the recent Eid celebrations.

Daily News 24 reports that the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
According to the statement, the police have set up an eight-man Special Investigation Panel (SIP) to probe the violence that erupted during the entourage of Emir Sanusi Lamido II after Eid prayers on Sunday, March 30. The panel is tasked with uncovering both the immediate and underlying causes of the incident and ensuring that those responsible face justice.
The police had earlier arrested two suspects-Usman Sagiru, 20, of Sharifai Quarters, and Nasir Idris, 35, of Kofar Mazugal Quarters—in connection with the violence. The incident resulted in the death of Surajo Rabiu, a vigilante member from Sabon Titi Jaba Quarters, while another individual, Aminu Suleman of Kofar Mata Quarters, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital.
CP Bakori reaffirmed the police command’s stance on maintaining law and order, warning that any act of defiance against the ban on Durbar or involvement in thuggery (Daba) would be met with strict consequences. He urged the public to comply with security directives to prevent any further breakdown of law and order.
The Special Investigation Panel has been directed to expedite its findings and ensure that those responsible for the violence are held accountable.
