Dismas Mutai, who had secured a scholarship to study at Anglia Ruskin University in London, admitted to squandering the funds on Aviator, a sports betting platform.

Mutai shared his ordeal on social media, expressing the emotional and mental toll of his loss. He confessed that his struggle with gambling addiction had severely impacted his well-being. “I’m not okay… Depression is slowly taking me to the grave,” he wrote, apologizing to his family for letting them down.

In a heartfelt plea, Mutai sought forgiveness and support from his community, highlighting his past contributions to local affairs. “Perhaps the UK was not meant for me, but just give me a chance to survive,” he appealed.
