The State Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, made this known on Tuesday in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya. Dantawaye stated that the rally could disrupt the peace currently prevailing in the state, which is enjoying a period of calm. Intelligence reports have raised concerns that some individuals may attempt to cause disturbances during the event, potentially leading to lawlessness.

In light of this, the police have advised the organizers to reconsider their plans to avoid any conflict. The Command also reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety, warning that decisive action will be taken against anyone who compromises security.

Despite these warnings, Senator Akpoti-Uduagan has insisted on going ahead with the rally, describing it as a “homecoming” celebration to mark Eid-el-Fitr with her constituents.
