The assault also resulted in significant property damage, despite security forces being alerted to potential threats.

Sam Jugo, National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association, described how residents were caught off guard while sleeping as gunshots rang out across multiple locations. The association confirmed that 49 bodies were recovered, with an undetermined number of others injured. Jugo voiced frustration over the presence of a drone station in Kwall, questioning its role and effectiveness in preventing the attack.

In response, the Plateau State Government condemned the assault, with Commissioner of Information and Communication Joyce Ramnap calling it an existential threat to the state’s peace-loving citizens.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration pledged to take decisive action against those responsible, urging residents to remain vigilant and calm.
