The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) on Monday upstaged Sunshine Spikers with a 3-1 defeat at the ongoing Nigeria Volleyball League in Ilorin, the Kwara capital.

Sunshine Spikers first clinched an upset first set victory at 25-21 against their opponents, before the NSCDC returned the favour with a second set win at 25-17, romping home with back-to-back wins in the 3rd and 4th sets 25-20, 25-16.

In one of the women’s matches also played on Monday, the NSCDC female team defeated Benue Queens 3-0, after the first set had set them up at 25-19, followed by a repeat 25-19 before nailing the 3rd and final set at 25-17.

Defending champions, the Nigeria Customs Service also proved their mettle by downing the Nigeria Police Force, 2020 fourth place winners, 3-0 (25-11,25-15, 25-18).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that as at the time of filing this report, the encounter between the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) female team and the Nigeria Immigration Service went in favour of COAS at 25-17 in the 1st set.
