Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has selected Anglo-Nigerian youngster Shola Shoretire in a 27-player squad for a training camp in Surrey this week, informs the club’s official website.

The Red Devils will train in Surrey before their next pre-season encounter against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

United commenced their pre-season match schedule with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Wayne Rooney’s Derby County on Sunday afternoon, and Shoretire was on parade at Pride Park Stadium for the entirety of the second half.

With several players yet to link up with the squad due to their commitments at the 2020 European Championship, Solskjaer has named some academy prospects in the 27-man group.

The 2004-born Shoretire is one of five players classed as strikers in the squad list, the others being Tahith Chong, Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Joe Hugill.

Shoretire has been training with the number 47 kit in pre-season and wore the jersey against Derby County, a game in which he produced a brilliant assist for the second goal scored by Manchester United.

Last season, he enjoyed first-team experience by training with the senior players and playing three competitive matches. [Manchester Evenings]
