Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo confirmed this on Monday while visiting Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin at his Maitama residence in Abuja.
The visit was prompted by the killing of travelers, primarily hunters from Kano State, who were heading home for Sallah celebrations. The victims were attacked by a mob that intercepted their vehicle, searched it, and killed them last Thursday.
Governor Okpebholo condemned the act, describing it as tragic and unacceptable. He assured that justice would be served and pledged government support for the victims’ families.
Deputy Senate President Jibrin stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable to deter future violence. He commended Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to ensuring justice and assisting the affected families.
